Question 1

Why is my mobile signal weak or my data so slow?

Accepted Answer

Weak signal and slow mobile data are usually caused by being too far from the nearest cell tower, by physical obstructions (hills, dense buildings, walls), or by tower congestion when too many users share one site. The most effective fix is for an operator to deploy a new tower closer to the affected area, which is exactly what LandForTele helps with — landowners list their property, and operators install equipment to improve local coverage.

Question 2

Can I help fix the weak signal in my town or village?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you own land or a rooftop in an area with poor coverage, you can list it on LandForTele. Mobile operators and tower companies are actively looking for sites in low-coverage zones. If your property is suitable, they will lease it from you and install a cell tower — improving signal for you and your neighbours, while paying you a long-term monthly rent.

Question 3

How much can I earn leasing land for a cell tower?

Accepted Answer

Rent depends on the country, how urban the location is, and how badly operators need coverage there. A standard 200 sqm plot is typically leased for a fixed monthly rent with an annual escalation of around 3-5%, for 10 to 25 years. LandForTele has a free rent estimator on the home page that gives an indicative range in your own country and currency, and lease-rate guides for the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Question 4

How big does my land need to be to host a cell tower?

Accepted Answer

A small ground tower works on as little as 8m × 8m (about 64 sqm) of clear, fenced land, although operators usually prefer 100-250 sqm. Rooftop installations need only 5m × 5m (about 25 sqm) of clear roof space plus structural capacity for the equipment.

Question 5

Are cell towers safe? Will the tower harm my health or my crops?

Accepted Answer

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), the radio-frequency levels at ground level near a normal cell tower are well below safety limits. Antennas are mounted high on the tower and aimed outward, so direct ground-level exposure is very low. In most countries the health or radiation-safety authority checks and certifies a site before it is switched on.

Question 6

How long does a cell tower lease last and can I sell my land later?

Accepted Answer

Telecom leases typically run 10 to 25 years with renewal options. The lease is registered against the title, so if you sell the land later the buyer takes it subject to the existing lease. Many buyers actually prefer this — the tower lease is steady, long-term passive income that comes with the property.
